Just keep shredding, just keep shredding…

It’s hard to believe that a little blue fish is helping to motivate me to get off my duff and do some hard core exercise today, but she is because what she says is so right on.  Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…

Yesterday I shredded for the first time and it was really, really, really hard.  REALLY hard.  Although it was only twenty minutes, it was twenty minute of intense workout that my body was not prepared for, because normally I hardly move at all.

However, when I completed the workout, I was so proud of myself (and SO disturbingly sweaty).  And now, almost twenty hours later and completely and totally sore (every.single.muscle), at 10:15 today, I’ll be doing the workout again, which I can’t imagine doing because OW, it hurts to stand up or walk up the stairs.  But what I did find out is that the more I move, the better I feel.  The less I move, the more sore I am.

So, last night when I had planned to sit around and rest my fatigued body, instead I got up and cleaned and I actually felt better.   I even played Wii with my family!   This morning when all I wanted to do was lie in bed and stare at my ceiling?  I got up and cleaned some more and did laundry.

I’m pretty pleased with that, really.   And even though my arms and legs (and neck and back and ass) feel like they are going to fall off, I’m still so glad to have FINALLY taken this step.  I’m finally taking care of me and I am so excited.

I also lost four pounds last week, which makes me doubly proud of myself.  It’s a really good feeling.

    I did my first day today and it was ruthless! but i felt great after it! my muscles feel ike spaghetti and i to can not see myself getting through it tomorrow...but i amdetermined and as they say the worst is over so here i am jumping on for the ride...or butt kicking....but either way i'm so stoked to put my before and after pics up at the end of 30 days cause i know this work out is something i will finish! sore muscles or not!

    If you are a netflix member, they have the DVD also and you can try it for free OR do all 30 days and just keep the DVD till you're ready to return it! Gotta love netflix!!
  • Oh my word. I just shredded for the first time....and I am worn out. I really didn't consider myself to be that out of shape, but boy was I wrong.....

    I love Jillian. She was so motivating that I can keep this up all the way til the end.

    But I was not prepared for how tough this was.
  • I hear ya. I was so sore the first day after doing it. I did it for 10 days though and have worked my way up to level 2. I have been doing that for 2 days now. It is HARD. This is a good workout DVD though.

  • You go girl...losing 4lb. WOW. I know exactly what you mean about being sore. 7 days later I am on day two of workout two and am still sore. Honestly since beginning the shred I haven't had a day without being sore. No pain no gain though, right?? It definitely does get easier though. I never thought I would get pass workout one, but by the end of the fourth day it was much easier. Stick with it!!!

  • THANKS for the heads up!!! I had myself a mini shopping spree @ Amazon this afternoon :) I got the Shred dvd along w/the latest yoga dvd for me to start doing w/nmy child care kids YAY! & WHILE I WAS THERE lol I ventered into the toy section & found some amamalz I've been dying to find!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the tip about the DVD. I wanted to buy it but didn't want to spend much. This was cheap enough I could get it and a couple of books and get free shipping, too! Yeah!
    Now I can start busting my buns Monday with everyone else!

    I googled the dvd and watched some of the workout cause i wanted to see it first to be sure it was something I could do. I am hoping to purchase it this weekend so I can start on Monday with everyone!
  • I just ordered it from walmart.com. They have it for $8.32 and i just did site to store shipping. I wont get it in time for the challenge but i will just have to start late with ya'll.

  • I really think the woman on the right, Anita, (in the green top) is WAY too skinny! Yes she is "shred" but you can count her ribs! I have over 100lbs to lose, but come on! I will never look that that nor would I want to.

    I are, it was simple in format but SUPER hard! Let's see tomorrow!

    I just bought my copy! Yeah! I won't be starting next week with everyone because it is spring break and we are going out of town. But when I get back I am doing it for sure!
  • I want to do the 30 day shred! Do you think I will be as sore ? I workout almost daily on the elliptical or running... I am worried!

  • That is what I did yesterday! I bought the video. Just spending 25 dollars or more and you get free shipping. So of course I bought more stuff:) I hope I get it in time for Monday.

    But now I am a little scared. I don't do well with tough workouts.
